Calamities like this bring people together. Strangers help each other, families stay together, and some people like me get to pause and ponder about life.
We realize a lot of things like "life is short." It makes us realize what we really want in life. Are we doing it currently? Or are we headed in that direction, or otherwise? As for me I'm happy where I am. This is where I want to be. For now at least. My life is simple. I'm happy to know that I have de-cluttered my life. I've filtered my life to do the things that I only love to do. I'm with people who matter and I'm doing the things that matter in my life.
Meanwhile, there are a lot of people who got affected with flood. It's never a good thing to lose your homes but I'm happy for those people who have survived this calamity. Remember that the material things that were lost because of this calamity can always be replaced. It can be difficult to rebuild what has been destroyed. But we can do this.
Never lose faith, love and hope. I know it sounds cheesy but I believe that we can always rise up when we fall. Stay safe and dry everyone! I am looking forward to waking up to a bright sunny day tomorrow.
"This is where I want to be."
